Who Are We and What Do We Do?

The Men and Women of the IAVCP represent over 7600 practitioners of animal adjusting technologies throughout the world. There are approximately 3200 veterinarians and 4400 chiropractors in our organization along with MDs RNs LMTs AHTs and many other professions.

Notice the IAVCP uses the term "Chiropractitioner" not "Chiropractor"

Only Chiropractors can use the title of chiropractor and only they can perform chiropractic as chiropractic is limited in the State Practice Acts as procedures applied to the human or to the human spine.

Therefore, there is no such thing as animal or veterinary chiropractic or an animal or veterinary chiropractor. Thus we can use "Chiropractitioner" which has been formally challenged and allowed

People who do "animal chiropractic" by applying classic chiropractic manipulations to joints and bones of animals call themselves "AVCA Certified Doctors". They most certainly do animal chiropractic and should be allowed to call themselves such, but they find themselves caught in a political tug-of-war which is not fair

"Chiropractitioner" is a term owned and copyrighted by the IAVCP to denote the types of animal therapy we provide. It is not animal chiropractic by definition.
